The
FONDAP Centers for Excellence look to articulate
the work of research groups in areas of knowledge
where national science has reached a high level of
development and counts on a significant number of
investigators with demonstrated productivity.
The Fund for Advanced Research in Priority Areas Program
(FONDAP) offers financing for the creation of excellence
centers, to lead the higer-level scientific research
within a certain area, as well as strengthening the
formation of young investigators (graduate-level degrees)
by giving them the opportunity to develop activities
within the same center.
