OUTREACH PROGRAM
- We use scientific knowledge to make a difference outside the academic realm, collaborating with governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. We extend the knowledge of biodiversity and Chilean ecosystems to people, using the open media.
- We contribute to education by providing bibliographic resources through the internet, by sustaining a seminar series on ecological and biodiversity issues, and by sponsoring courses and symposia on these topics.
Our Outreach objectives are
- To disseminate scientific knowledge about Chilean biodiversity and ecosystems
- To promote the ecosystem approach to help integrate biodiversity conservation with natural resource use.
- To facilitate the link between ecological science and environmental policy and management at local, regional, and global scales.
- To strengthen ecological education for students, decision-makers, and the general public.
