The increasing loss of forests in Chile motivated a group of Chilean and foreign researchers, in 1994, to create Senda Darwin Foundation (FSD), a non profit and independent academic center, dedicated to scientific research, diffusion of knowledge, conservation and sustainable management of the forest.
Senda Darwin Foundation was deeply involved in the creation of the Center for Advanced Studies in Ecology and Biodiversity (CASEB), providing its approach and experience in the transfer of scientific knowledge to society.
